Louisiana State Patrol

On Sunday while driving back to Dallas I had a lil run in with the Louisiana State Patrol. I had been tailing the fire marshal for a couple of hours making sure that I didn’t pass him. As you can see the lovely rental car that Magen and I had was such a beauty that it didn’t have cruise controlIMG_1855

At about 5:30pm Magen yells, “Caroline slow down I can see a cop in the trees.” As soon as I spotted the cop car, I knew I was in deep trouble. I started to get over and sure enough the lights came on. As soon as we were pulled over I had Magen hand me the rental agreement which my name was not on and my drivers license. Note that I do not have car insurance.. I live in NYC people…

The cop motioned for me to get out of the car.. Now I was terrified. I didn’t want to go to jail for speeding. I got out of the car and the cop asked for my license. The minute he saw my New York State license he go so excited and started asking me all about the city. He went on and on and didn’t let me get a word in as he filled out my ticket. The cop never asked for my insurance or the rental agreement. He ever so politely handed me the ticket and told me to call the office in the morning to find out the amount. He then told me to go to a Broadway show for him. When I called this morning, I was horrified to find out that going 85 in a 70 in Louisiana results in a $246 dollar fine.. Louisiana thanks for breaking the piggy bank. I will stick to mass transit!!!

Hey! I didn't know you had a blog! Looks like you have for a long time. You have to keep up with it now that you're leaving for India and having all these awesome adventures!

That is ridiculous. Way too much money! I'm glad you made it back to NYC safe and sound and I can't wait for you to come and visit again!

why don't we stick to driving instead of taking blog pics while driving?
